About the university
A public academic institution specialising in security sciences
The University has legal personality and financial and administrative autonomy, It reports to the minister of Interior and is headquartered in Damascus. It aims to prepare qualified personnel, develop education and training curricula, and conducts studies and research in the fields of security and law.
- Preparing qualified personnel to meet the needs of the Ministry and security agencies, including officers, non-commissioned officers and civilian personnel, both men and women.
- Offering postgraduate and specialised programmes in security sciences and cyber security.
- Admitting and preparing secondary-school graduates for undergraduate and technical education.
- Developing education and training curricula and methods.

The Concept behind the Emblem
The University's emblem combines national and academic symbols that reflect its mission to prepare qualified security personnel. It incorporates the Syrian eagle, shield, book, pen and three stars.
1- The Syrian Eagle :
At the centre of the emblem is the head of the Syrian eagle, one of the country's most prominent national symbols. Its eye symbolises foresight within the security institution.

2- The Shield :
The eagle is framed by a multi-layered shield, a universal symbol of protection and security.
