Overview

The Syrian University for Security Sciences has opened registration for the 2026–2027 admission competition, covering the College of Cyber Security, the College of Security Sciences, and the technical institutes for cyber and security sciences. This guide sets out applicant requirements, minimum scores by secondary certificate stream, required documents and pledges, and the registration stages through to results. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 2/9/2026.

Applicants must

    Nationality

    Syrian nationality for at least five years.

    Academic certificate

    Hold a Syrian general secondary certificate or equivalent for the academic years 2025 and 2026.

    Age

    Born on or after 1/1/2005.

    Legal capacity

    Full legal capacity and enjoyment of civil rights.

    Fitness

    Health, physical and psychological fitness.

    Height

    At least 170 cm for males and 160 cm for females.

    Body mass index

    BMI between 18 and 28.

  4. 8
    Criminal record

    Must not have been sentenced to a criminal penalty, or to a custodial sentence for a crime involving honour or trust.

Minimum scores for application

Minimum scores differ by programme and secondary certificate stream. Accepted certificate years are 2025 and 2026.

Required documents and pledges

Required documents

  • A recent individual civil registry extract issued within the last 3 months.
  • A copy of the national ID.
  • A recent criminal record extract.
  • A non-employment certificate.
  • 6 recent colour personal photos on a white background.
  • If employed by the Internal Security Forces: a no-objection letter from the affiliated authority through the administrative chain.
  • Pay the admission competition fee of /500/ Syrian pounds when submitting the application.

Secondary certificate documents

  • Holders of the Syrian secondary certificate for 2025: submit a duly certified copy of the 2025 general secondary certificate.
  • Holders of the Syrian secondary certificate for 2026: submit a clear screenshot of the secondary result from the official Ministry of Education app, including the applicant’s key details and the result in one full clear image.
  • Holders of equivalent secondary certificates: submit the original certificate or a duly certified copy, with the equivalence decision from the competent authority, completing all required authentication and equivalence procedures under applicable rules.

Required pledges

  • Comply with set deadlines and ensure the accuracy of submitted data and documents.
  • Comply with applicable financial and conduct pledges and regulations.
  • Declare all nationalities held.
  • Pledge to pay expenses and fees arising from dismissal, withdrawal or interruption.
  • Pledge about 10 years of service after graduation for technical institutes and 15 years for colleges.

Registration stages to complete

Applicants complete the following six stages.

Important notes

Recording preference on the general placement card

Only applicants who pass the University’s admission competition and meet the enrolment conditions may record the University as a preference on the general placement card issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. No enrolment request is accepted unless the applicant has duly passed the competition.

Submitting an application is not admission

Submitting an application is not final admission and does not necessarily lead to being called or nominated for a later stage.

Applications close on Wednesday 2/9/2026. Registration is via the QR code in the announcement.

Service commitment after graduation

About 10 years of service for technical institutes and 15 for colleges, plus pledging to pay expenses and fees in cases of dismissal, withdrawal or interruption.

Accepted secondary certificate years

Accepted years are the 2025 and 2026 certificates, or equivalents under a duly authenticated equivalence decision from the competent authority.
